Project Details: Phase 2 is designed to work as an educational and research facility for nearly 3,800 occupants. Serving as a campus crossroads for science students and faculty members, the C.C.I.S. Phase 2 building will be an interactive centre for educational and interdisciplinary science program functions. The total gross building area of 52,220 m2 will consist of two distinct components. The main building will consist of a series of multi-storey structures commonly linked and a Lecture Theatre building which will be located immediately to the east of the existing Bio-Science building. The main building will encompass office, office support, institutional facilities, research laboratories, supporting laboratories and building support area. As much as 40 per cent of the area will be below grade as a means of reducing the visual impact on the surrounding campus.
