Owner: Plutonic Power Corporation

Financing: Private – A general partnership between Plutonic Power and General Electric Energy Financial Services Status: The project is currently under construction, with completion sometime in early or mid-2010.

Project Details: The Toba Montrose General Partnership will use run-of-river technology to generate 196 MW of electricity on Montrose Creek and the Toba River. Through this and other projects in development, Plutonic Power Corporation is hoping to help British Columbia become energy self-sufficient by 2016. While investor investor confidence in the province’s clean-energy sector has been low, putting projects like this one in jeopardy, B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell’s green-power call to arms this November is meant to revive the sector.
