Project Details: The new 255-kilometre, 500-kilovolt overhead transmission line will be the largest upgrade to British Columbia.’s transmission system in over 30 years. The EA took the challenging terrain, protected habitats for Spotted Owl, Class A provincial parks, and over 500 watercourses into consideration. The project corridor also passes through the traditional territories of 67 First Nations and tribal councils. A second legal challenge to the EA certificate will be filed shortly by the Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council.
