Location: , along with a transmission line in Central Yukon that connects Yukon’s two existing grid systems, the Whitehorse-Aishihik-Faro in Southern Yukon and Mayo-Dawson in Northern Yukon.
Key Players: Threlkeld Consulting, Keiwit and Sons Co. (consultant); Challenger (centerline surveying of the Carmacks-Stewart transmission line, clearing/brushing); Pelly Construction in conjunction with the Northern Tutchone First Nations (Mayo B turbine/generator, Stewart Crossing substation transformer)

The rest of money will come from the Yukon Government/Yukon Development Corporation with an option for the First Nation of Nacho Nyak Dun to invest in the project.
Status: Scheduled for completion in 2012, but the construction contract is still to be awarded. Construction of the Carmacks-Stewart transmission line will begin in late February/early March of 2010, and Mayo B construction is set to begin late 2010.
Project Details: Upgrades to the Mayo hydro facility will include building a new powerhouse downstream from the existing one, while Phase 2 of the Carmacks-Stewart transmission line will complete the development of a transmission line connecting Yukon’s two grid systems. The goal is to more than double the amount of hydro power produced at Yukon Energy’s Mayo plant (from 5 to 13 MW) and to connect the territory’s two existing transmission systems to make best use of this additional hydro.
