Description:

The station will serve as a backup for the Dorsey Converter Station, located west of the city near Rosser. It will also serve as the converter station for the new $3.28-billion Bipole III transmission line that Manitoba Hydro hopes to begin building in the fall of 2012 and to have in service by mid-2017. Currently under construction, completion is scheduled for 2014.
