Summerside Wind Farm Up and Running

Families in Prince Edward Island now have greater access to clean, renewable energy, thanks to the Summerside Wind Farm. The Honourable Gail Shea, Canada's Minister of National Revenue, and the Honourable Ron MacKinley Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal for Prince Edward Island, joined together with Summerside Mayor Basil Stewart to celebrate the official opening of the Summerside Wind Farm.

Construction Starts at Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre

Sports, culture and recreation will soon have a new home in Bridgewater thanks to the construction of the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre. Member of Parliament for South Shore ¿ St. Margaret's, Gerald Keddy, and Gary Ramey, MLA for Lunenburg West, on behalf of the Honourable Maureen MacDonald, Minister of Health and Wellness, today broke ground on the Centre. The Centre will provide families in Lunenburg County with access to high quality community facilities.

Southwest Transitway Extension Complete

Federal, provincial and municipal representatives gathered today to celebrate the extension of the Southwest Transitway, a four-kilometre stretch located between the Fallowfield and Marketplace transit stations in Barrhaven. This project will significantly improve transit service reliability and efficiency and will provide needed new transit services in one of Ottawa's fastest growing communities.

Nelson road opening helps truckers, farmers and drivers

Governments Celebrate Completion of Fox Creek Wastewater Lift Station

Residents of Fox Creek are benefiting from a more sustainable water system thanks to investments in a newly constructed wastewater lift station. The Honourable Rob Merrifield, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, Mel Knight, MLA for Grande Prairie-Smoky and Mayor Leora MacKinnon were on hand today to take part in the official ribbon cutting ceremony marking the project's completion.

High-frequency bus service between Quebec City’s eastern and western districts

This morning, the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC), Quebec City's public transit authority, released information on the Métrobus 803 service, the new high frequency bus line that will go into service on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Long awaited, this line will link the Les Saules terminus to the terminus in Beauport and run along a 7 km reserved lane (in both directions) on Lebourgneuf Boulevard. The announcement was made this morning by Patrick Huot, Member of the National Assembly for Vanier, François Picard, Vice-President of the City of Quebec Executive Committee and Raymond Dion, CEO of the RTC. The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, who was unable to attend the announcement, is pleased to see this project come to fruition.

Government Investment Takes Centre Stage For
