Death Toll on Canada’s Roads Continues to Decrease – Transport Canada

Construction continues on transit service in Mississauga – Transport Canada

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO — A groundbreaking ceremony was held today to mark the start of construction of Tomken Station, along the Mississauga bus rapid transit corridor. Bob Dechert, Member of Parliament, Mississauga-Erindale; Amrit Mangat, parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Transportation and Member of Provincial Parliament for Mississauga-Brampton South; Her Worship Hazel McCallion, mayor of Mississauga; and Judy Knight, Metrolinx vice-president of Corporate Infrastructure, participated in the event.

The Government of Canada announces a 12-month extension for child seat regulations – Transport Canada

OTTAWA — The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced an extension to December 31, 2011, of the transition period for the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations. The original implementation date was January 1, 2011.

Canada welcomes China Southern Airlines Inaugural Flight – Transport Canada

VANCOUVER — The Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), British Columbia Premier Christy Clark, and Vancouver Airport Authority president and CEO
Larry Berg today welcomed the inaugural China Southern Airlines flight between Guangzhou, China, and Vancouver. The China Southern Airlines service will run three times weekly between Vancouver and Guangzhou, the capital of China’s most populous province, Guangdong. This is Canada’s first and only non-stop flight to Guangzhou.
