Metrolinx, the Ontario government agency responsible for developing new Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines in Toronto, has recently released an animated video that demonstrates how the tunnel boring machines will be used to construct the underground portion of the project. The $8.2 billion project was number one on our 2012 Top 100 Projects list, but with recent changes to the scope of the project, it likely won’t take that spot on our 2013 list.
