Detailed engineering and design for the project is substantially complete and construction has started as planned on all major work sites for the project, including Muskrat Falls, Soldiers Pond, Churchill Falls, the Strait of Belle Isle, and the transmission routes. Contracts are in place for the majority of work. Transmission is expected to begin in 2018, with generation expected in 2019.
