This new comprehensive cancer centre is to be built at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary. The 80,000-plus-square-metre complex will include inpatient beds, an outpatient facility, cancer diagnostic and treatment technologies, and dedicated space for research. The centre will provide much-needed access to cutting-edge treatment and care for residents of Calgary and southern Alberta. The RFP was released in October 2016, with a successful proposal announcement expected in mid-2017. Construction is slated to begin in 2017. The facility will open in 2024.
