The new facility will consolidate the operations of the Centre of Forensic Sciences, Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Unit from their current location in downtown Toronto. The facility also includes a large atrium in the centre of the building, complete with trees, plants, tables, and chairs, which will win the project LEED points by improving air quality—developers are aiming for LEED Gold certification. Under construction, completion is expected in 2013.
