The Blue Line Extension project will add approximately six kilometres of track and five new stations to the current 12-station Blue Line, one of four Metro lines that runs through the Greater Montreal Area. The extension will run along Jean-Talon Street, ending east of Highway 25. In summer 2022, the STM received authorization from the Quebec government to move forward with the execution phase. Therefore, the STM launched its call for tenders for the tunnel boring machine in fall 2022.
