The Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) project will bring 18 kms of fast, reliable, rapid transit to the cities of Mississauga and Brampton along the Hurontario corridor. New, modern light rail vehicles will travel in a dedicated right-of-way and serve 19 stops with connections to GO Transit’s Milton and Lakeshore West rail lines, Mississauga MiWay, Brampton Züm, and the Mississauga Transitway BRT. Works on the Hazel McCallion LRT project continue, with over 20 kms of watermain, sanitary and stormwater systems installed, 231 new hydro poles installed, 22,000 linear metres of underground telecom relocations installed and 42,000 metres of guideway track delivered to the site, as of end of September 2023.
