Rogers Place, Edmonton’s new downtown arena, will become the centre of a new entertainment district in the heart of Alberta’s capital city and the new home of the Edmonton Oilers. The design will integrate the $480-million arena with an adjacent $7-million light-rail transit station and a $15-million outdoor pedway that provides event space and a pedestrian connection with adjacent development. Plans also include a $21-million, 1,000-seat community rink attached to the arena, an overpass, and a large $53-million Winter Garden providing a climatecontrolled event venue for public use
