This new hospital will continue to offer the high level of services currently available at Western Memorial Regional Hospital including emergency care, obstetrics, palliative care, rehabilitation, inpatient mental health services and diagnostic services, in addition to new services such as radiation treatment and a dedicated space for a PET scanner.

In June of 2019, Corner Brook Health Partnership was named as the successful proponent for the project. Substantial completion is expected in 2023.
