The project remains on track to complete main construction in the 2030-31 timeframe and within the estimated $4.5-5 billion budget. The project has completed the schematic design phase and is well into design development. On the construction site, current progress includes the completion of the main excavation for the new Parliament Welcome Centre and the drilling of the wells needed to install a geo-exchange system. In addition, the interior demolition and removal of hazardous materials within the Centre Block is substantially complete, the restoration of over 20,000 heritage assets has commenced and the conservation of the exterior masonry has also progressed.
